The negative effects of the spread of atheism in the present era ;;;
An atheist is a person who does not believe in the existence of God,divine religions or religious beliefs. Atheism is an intellectual and philosophical theory in which different people’s views and reasons may differ. Some people disagree with religion on scientific, philosophical or personal grounds while some completely reject religious beliefs.
In the present era,due to social media, intellectual chaos,materialism and moral crisis the topic of atheism has become a topic of discussion around the world. However to understand this issue it is necessary to adopt a balanced,scientific and wise approach so that hatred,extremism or division does not arise in society. Possible negative effects of atheism or distance from religion on society If moral and spiritual values weaken in a society,many negative effects can emerge for example: Weakness in moral values When a person becomes distant from spiritual and moral responsibility,behaviors such as lying, cheating,selfishness and indifference can increase. Effects on the family system Religious and moral teachings strengthen the family. The weakness of these values can lead to distances and instability in family relationships. Mental and spiritual restlessness Materialism alone cannot give a person complete satisfaction. Due to the spiritual vacuum,anxiety and a sense of lack of purpose in life can increase. Social chaos If tolerance, respect and high morals are lost, the risk of hatred , mistrust and chaos in society increases. Effects on the younger generation Unverified information and religious ridicule on social media can cause some young people to be mentally confused and intellectually confused. especially when they do not have access to correct guidance. Necessary measures in the present era It is more effective to respond to atheism or intellectual deviation not only with emotions or hatred, but also with knowledge,wisdom, and good morals. For this:Religious and moral education should be strengthened. The questions of the youth should be answered in a scientific and positive manner. Dialogue, tolerance and respect for humanity should be promoted. Parents and teachers should focus on the intellectual and moral training of the youth. Positive and authentic scientific content should be disseminated on social media. Spirituality, character building and the spirit of human service should be promoted. Furthermore according to Islamic teachings, atheism is an intellectual and faith issue in which a person denies the existence of Allah Almighty,revelation,the afterlife or religious realities. In the present era due to social media,materialism, moral misguidance and lack of religious knowledge,an increase in the trends of atheism is being seen. Islam answers this problem through wisdom,knowledge, evidence, morality and invitation. In the light of Islamic teachings, the Holy Quran has repeatedly invited man to reflect on the universe,nature,earth and sky and his own creation so that man can recognize the power of Allah. “Were they created without a creator or did they create themselves? “Who are they?” (Surah At-Tur) Islam teaches faith with reason, prudence and awareness instead of blind imitation. Islam does not allow anyone to be forced to become a Muslim. “There is no compulsion in religion.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 256) Therefore it is taught to speak to atheists with wisdom,patience,morality and knowledge and not with hatred, abuse or cruelty. The wise Quran commands: “Invite to the path of your Lord with wisdom and good advice and speak in the best way.” (Surah An-Nahl: 125) This shows that the temptation of atheism should be countered with evidence,research, good morals and a positive attitude. Islam emphasizes acquiring knowledge. When young people move away from both religious and scientific knowledge, doubts and suspicions increase. Therefore: understanding the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), studying modern scientific and intellectual debates,guidance from authoritative scholars and researchers is very important. Sometimes people are suspicious of religion due to the wrong attitudes of Muslims. If Muslims adopt: truth, justice, trust, good morals and service to humanity then this can become the best invitation of Islam itself. Some of the reasons for the spread of atheism in the present era are distance from religious education, misleading propaganda on social media, materialism and only worldly thinking, anti-Islamic satanic Western intellectual influences, social injustices, extremism or wrong attitudes in the name of religion, effective strategies,scientific and intellectual training of young people, translation of the Holy Quran and These include spreading understanding, providing reasoned answers to modern scientific and philosophical questions, promoting moral and spiritual education in educational institutions, presenting positive and scholarly Islamic content on social media and promoting tolerance, dialogue, and moderation. Overall in the context of the current situation, it would be correct to say that according to Islamic teachings, guiding people through invitation, wisdom,patience and good morals is considered the best way. Despite differences of opinion, adopting an attitude of respect, justice and peace with every human being is essential for social stability. Undoubtedly the religion of Islam teaches us to respond to atheism not with violence or hatred but with knowledge, wisdom, reason, morality and invitation. In the present era it is necessary for Muslims to strengthen the religious, intellectual and moral training of their new generation so that they can confront doubts and doubts with confidence and insight.
